This Privacy Policy explains what information the StartaPool mobile app (“StartaPool,” “we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. StartaPool is a free app for running friendly football pools with friends.

Information we collect
- Email address. When you sign in, you provide an email address. We send a one-time login code to it and use it to identify your account. We do not use a password.
- Content you create in the app. Pools you create or join, entries, your weekly picks, and your per-pool display name. This is the information needed to run the pools and leaderboards.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers, and we do not use advertising or analytics/tracking software.
Information stored on your device
After you sign in, an authentication token is stored securely on your device (the iOS Keychain / Android Keystore) so you stay signed in. This token stays on your device and is not shared.
How we use your information
- To authenticate you and keep you signed in.
- To operate the pools, entries, picks, leaderboards, and invitations you use.
- To send you the one-time codes required to log in.
We do not sell your information, share it for advertising, use it to track you across other apps or websites, or use it for any purpose other than providing the app.
Service providers
We use a small number of service providers strictly to operate the app on our behalf — for example, a hosting provider for our servers and an email delivery service to send your login codes. These providers process information only to provide their service to us and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Data security
Data sent between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the app: Profile → Delete account. When you delete your account, we scrub your personal information — your name and email are removed (your email is replaced with a non-identifying placeholder) and your login codes are deleted. Some non-personal, anonymized records may remain as part of pool history.
Children’s privacy
StartaPool is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can delete your account in the app at any time, or contact us at the address below for any request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date above.
